Study Materials

The FernUniversität is moving towards the fully digital provision of its study materials. The central vehicle for this transition will be the Moodle learning platform, through which you will be able to access all the relevant content for the modules in which you are enrolled.

You can find more information about our shift to digital study materials as well as background and support materials on our web page FernUni in Transition: Fully Digital Studies.

How to Access Your Study Materials

  • Generally speaking, your study materials will be made available via Moodle and the LVU (Virtual University Learning Space)
  • Once your module begins, you will have immediate access without having to wait for materials to be mailed to you.
  • In addition, (depending on the module) other digital learning resources such as videos, online seminars, or interactive content will be made available to you.

Transition Period Until Full Digitization

The transition to digital course materials is taking place in stages: Since summer semester 2026, the FernUniversität has been providing all course materials in the faculties of Economics, Psychology, and Law entirely and exclusively digitally. Printed documents will no longer be mailed after this. For the Faculties of Cultural and Social Sciences and Mathematics and Computer Science, this transition will take place in winter semester 2026/27.
